Development Planning

Jim Thompson is an Advisory Partner at WIDC.  Mr. Thompson currently serves in an advisory role and liaison in the developmental planning of all projects.

Mr. Thompson is currently the owner of Wimberley Builders involved in the acquisiton of residential and commerical propertieis in the Texas Hill Country as well as Chief Operating Officer of Total Building Systems, LLC, a product and process improvement business entity designed to serve the building industry.  Recent development activities have included Partner responsibilities for PineLakes Ltd., the develoer of WindRose in northwest Houston, and for Tenzer Company entities developing Barringon in Kingwood, Texas.  Mr. Thompson also served as Director and Chief Operating Officer at Friendswood Development Company, a former subsidiary of Exxon Corporation and previously one of the largest master plan developers in the United States.  During his tenure at FDC, he played a critical role in the development, construction, and marketing of 6 major residential projects encompassing 58K acres, 85K residences, and 4M SF of commercial space.  Mr. Thompson has also served in a leadership capacity on several economic and development advisory boards, chamber organizations, and steering committees.

With over 30 years of corporate development and construction experience, Mr. Thompson’s consultative role has proven to be an invaluable tool in the developmental planning of WIDC projects.  Jim received his BBA from the University of Michigan and his MBA from Michigan State University.
